Special thank you to Martin & Charlotte

Yesterday, with sun shining and barbecue coals aglow, BiBNT members that hadn’t already jetted off on their summer holidays experienced the tremendous hospitality of Martin and Charlotte Mowat when they opened their doors for our network’s summer BBQ.

A big thanks to you both, not just for allowing us to enjoy your home and garden on the day, but we all know how much preparation goes into getting ready for a crowd of visitors.

There’s no doubt they both worked very hard… tables and umbrellas were all set up and looking very inviting, the grass impeccably trimmed, the pool sparkling!

And NO, not just your average wobbly paper plate deal and a burnt hot dog that you might get chez moi. All the best of their china, cutlery, crystal and tablecloths were laid out for the guests. Pure class in a great setting!

Thanks too to Tom McVeigh and Martin for standing in the blazing sun over the barbecues to make sure everyone was well fed. They skillfully teased and tamed the flames to grill a ton of tasty meat to perfection.

The swimming pool offered welcome relief from the heat. There wasn’t a dry kid in sight! They only came out of the water for their burgers and ice-cream (and to top up on M&Ms!!) before throwing down their towels and jumping right back in for more wet fun – no doubt they all slept well last night!

With great company, a smashing lunch, flowing wine, terrific cheeses and more choice of desserts than our waistlines can afford (including Charlotte’s cheesecake – which definitely deserves a blue ribbon), adults and kids alike thoroughly enjoyed the day.

So thanks again Martin and Charlotte. Sorry if your dishwasher is still on the go and your washing machine is still battling table cloth wine stains, but your hospitality was five-star and greatly appreciated.

For our BiBNT members who were not able to attend, we missed you. But don’t worry, we’ll keep you posted on upcoming BiBNT events and other opportunities for you to meet new friends, network and promote your business – or just to relax and enjoy the friendly company of your fellow association members like we were able to do yesterday.
