PERFORMANCES

In situ performance on the theme of street furniture, the towns that surround us are environments containing numerous objects some more imposing  than others, some mobile, others less so,  all often ugly & to which we rarely pay any attention. How can we change the purpose of this ‘furniture’ towards a completely different use?  Introduce some barriers & work out a way through, send off a loving couple off with a dustbin, cross a pedestrian crossing in different ways….
Towns are also home to millions of people who pass each other daily without even looking at each other. How can we call out to the passers-by & make them aware of the actions they repeat every day?

10PM
Duration 30 mins
Inside the cathedral

Kaori Ito
SOLOS

In “Solos” Kaori Ito plays the parts of 4 women who ask themselves the question “who am I if my body doesn’t belong to me?” The first is a seductress. Wearing a flashy sequined dress she slowly crosses the stage pulling a jewelled liana. The second is a neurotic; In a black dress she reads & sobs at the same time. Acting like a dislocated puppet…….

Sunday 8th August
9.45 PM
In front of the cathedral

Arnaud Aymard
L’OISEAU BLEU

‘L’oiseau bleu’ (the Blue Bird) is an educational story for adults, a thinly veiled satire of the world of work. As the story unfolds a hideous Black Crow has just invaded Switzerland with his army of the unemployed. The planet is in danger. The Blue Bird, accompanied by his little friend Pico Pico the hedgehog, leaves his employer Mme Meule to attempt to liberate Switzerland….
